Elon Musk ’s name has surfaced in newly released files connected to Jeffrey Epstein , the late financier and convicted sex offender . The documents, handed over to the House Oversight Committee by Epstein’s estate, include flight manifests, phone logs and schedules.
They point to meetings and possible visits involving some of the world’s most powerful men, including Prince Andrew, former Trump adviser Steve Bannon, and PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel.
One entry, dated 6 December 2014, appears to suggest that Musk was expected to visit Epstein’s private island, Little St James. It read: “Reminder: Elon Musk to island Dec. 6 (is this still happening?).” The files, released by Democrats on the committee, also mention a planned lunch with Thiel in 2017 and a breakfast with Bannon in 2019. A separate flight manifest from 2000 recorded Prince Andrew travelling with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell from New Jersey to Florida.
Musk issues three word respone
After his name appeared in the batch of documents, Musk broke his silence with a terse three-word response on X, the platform he owns. “This is false,” he wrote.
Earlier this year, Musk himself accused Donald Trump of being linked to Epstein, saying the US president was withholding information from the public. In June, he posted: “Time to drop the really big bomb. @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files . That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!” Musk later deleted the post but continued to question why Epstein’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell was imprisoned if there were “no clients.”
What are the Epstein files?
In 2008, Jeffrey Epstein struck a plea deal after being accused of molesting a 14-year-old girl in Florida. Though photos of young girls were found in his home, he received a light sentence and registered as a sex offender. In 2019, he was charged again for operating a sex trafficking network and died by suicide in jail. His associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, was later convicted in 2021 for conspiring with him to traffic minors.
