In a world where job applications are getting more creative by the day, one applicant has managed to grab eyeballs - by not even printing his full resume.
A post doing the rounds on Reddit’s r/recruitinghell community shows a resume that stops halfway through, revealing only a portion of the candidate’s face and a generic career objective. The rest of the paper? Completely blank, except for a bold one, liner dead centre: “Hire me to unlock my full potential.”
The post was titled, “Resume printed halfway and said: Hire me to unlock full potential,” and has since gone viral for its bizarrely brilliant, or hilariously broken—approach to job hunting.
The visible part of the resume featured the objective, “To be part of your company wherein I can enhance my skills and gain more knowledge as well as develop my personality as a career person.” But instead of continuing with experience or education, it cut off completely, leaving viewers with the punchline.
Reddit users were quick to jump in with jokes. “They’re going to email you back a lootbox that has a 0.01% chance of containing an offer,” one wrote. Another added, “The printer paused to ask for payment before printing the rest.”
But amid the banter, some saw brilliance. “If I were a recruiter, I’d 100% be giving you a call for an interview. Might not hire you, but that got you right into my office, without question,” said a user.
Whether it was a smart stunt or just a printer fail gone viral remains unknown, but one thing’s for sure: this half-resume got the full internet’s attention.
