August could be set for another red-hot heatwave as weather maps from WXCharts show sizzling temperatures nationwide. On August 15, volcanic red heat will push across from Europe, bringing highs of up to 31C. The east of England will see the hottest temperatures, with Norfolk expected to reach 32C at 6pm.
Stretching down to the south east, London, Sussex and Surrey hit a hot 31C at the same time on Friday 15, with Oxfordshire seeing similar digits. The heatwave will push up towards the north of England in the middle of August too, with figures of up to 30C expected in the north west. Cheshire will be a hot 30C at 6pm on August 15, while Staffordshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire reach up to 29-29C.
The scorching hot temperatures will continue up to Nottingham, predicted to be a warm 26-27C, while south Lancashire climbs to 28C.
Up in the north east, locals can expect up to 22C, while Scotland soars to 24C in the north of the country, similar to Northern Ireland which is predicted to be 22-24C that day.
Wales will face the brunt of the heatwave, along with the south of England, as the country is predicted to face temperatures of up to 27C.
Down in the south west of England, the Mediterranean heat will push figures up to 30C in Somerset, and 25-27C in Devon and Cornwall.
According to weather forecaster the Met Office, "much of England could see high temperatures" next week. Over the period of Tuesday 12 to Thursday 21 August "a spell of hot weather [looks] increasingly likely at the start of this period" in the south".
The forecaster said: "Much of England could see high temperatures for at least a couple of days and there is a possibility that the heat could last further into the week, especially in the south, where there is also the possibility of some thunderstorms."
Later into the month, the Met Office predicts "above average temperatures overall", with the "potential for further hot spells to develop, especially in the east and south".
