The UK is full of amazing cities. There's the capital, London, which attracts millions of tourists every year, and other places worth mentioning include York, Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Cambridge, Oxford, Liverpool and Manchester.
But while they all have something special to offer, none of them are home to one of the shortest high streets in the country. That title belongs to Lancaster, a small and "peaceful" city in Lancashire with a high street that measures just 160 metres long. It may be tiny, but it's packed with charm.

Visitors will find traditional shopfronts, small cafés, and old buildings made of local stone. It has a cosy, village feel in the heart of a city.
One person who visited said: "Absolutely lovely, very unique, amazing how tiny it is. So interesting, my sister and I loved it. Please visit, it's amazing."
The rest of Lancaster is just as picturesque. It's home to quiet residential streets with rows of quaint stone houses, many of which date back hundreds of years.
Just a short walk from the city centre is Williamson Park, home to the Ashton Memorial, which towers over the city skyline. Often called the 'Taj Mahal of the North', it was built by millionaire industrialist Lord Ashton in memory of his wife.

One person who visited wrote: "Absolutely stunning views and a peaceful place to walk around. The memorial is beautiful inside and out."
Lancaster is also known for its castle, which once served as both a prison and a courtroom.
It now offers tours that take visitors through its cells, courtrooms and towers.
One visitor said: "A fascinating building with so much history. The tour was excellent."
Another added: "Beautiful castle with knowledgeable guides. I would definitely recommend it."
Elsewhere in the city, you'll find the Cottage Museum, a small restored home that shows how local families lived in the 1800s.
Lancaster's streets are also full of character, with independent bookshops, traditional pubs and quiet corners dotted throughout the city.
Many of the buildings are made from sandstone and give the area its warm, inviting feel.
As one person summed it up: "Lancaster is a lovely small city with historic charm and friendly locals. So much character in such a small space."
