Just days after former newsreader Selina Scott told movingly of her ordeal of being surrounded, jostled and robbed by "seven or eight men and women of East Asian origin" in broad daylight in Central London, Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley was on my show and Ms. Scott, 74, had a question. She asked how we have arrived at a situation where so many people feel London was becoming increasingly unsafe and also why it had proved impossible to find an officer anywhere after the incident.
Agreeing the police had not performed as it should have, Sir Mark offered his apologies. It was then revealed police had failed to visit Ms Scott the next day as there was no available police car. Difficult to see how lawless London is to be dealt with if police have to resort to hailing taxis!

The unbridled insanity of our broken borders and mind-numbing inability to deport anyone was highlighted again last week when an asylum seeker successfully appealed against his deportation as he would have to shave off his beard if he were sent back to his native Tajikistan.
A ludicrous and clear case of "hair today, hair tomorrow" and probably safely "hair" for the rest of his days!

Just when I thought the clueless dolts who run English rugby union couldn't be beaten for sheer incompetence, we learn Headingley has been omitted from the men's Ashes series in 2027. This, after England's classic win over India last week at the Yorkshire ground was sporting triumph mixed with pure theatre. It really should be "over" for these cricketing clots.

Why the outrage over the proscription of Palestine Action? Their actions in taking two RAF aircraft out of service jeopardised the safety of all of us, particularly with the world in such a precarious position. Unbelievably, 11 MPs have objected to the group being classified as a terrorist organisation.
It's hard to know who's more stupid: those MPs or whoever is supposedly in charge of "guarding" RAF Brize Norton.

As the unprecedented exodus of millionaires and billionaires from this country continues at a pace, I wonder if any of the wealth creators ever look down on the English Channel from the jets flying them to places such as Italy and Dubai?
If so, they might spot the armada of dinghies bringing in tens of thousands of asylum seekers, all of whom will be on the state payroll and in taxpayer-funded hotel accommodation within hours of arrival.
What does it say about a country that is happy to drive out hugely successful business men and women, and welcome in people who, mostly, bring zero financial benefit?
