After his electrifying performance at Glastonbury, the legendary Rod Stewart was once again overwhelmed with support after he took to Instagram with a huge announcement. This came after postponing a number of shows due to ill-health, as the iconic rocker proved to be in top shape as he returned to the stage with a surprise guest.
Just hours before appearing in front of concertgoers, the 80-year-old penned: "Excited to have Richard Marx join the One Last Time tour tonight. New Jersey, Are you coming tonight?" This last-minute gig came after Rod replaced a cancelled show featuring Billy Joel with the concert at New Jersey's PNC Bank Arts Center. Thousands of his 1.5 million followers were quick to take to the comments with anticipation, as one eager fan shared: "I'm here waiting for you (and Richard Marx), lol."
Others shared their reactions after the show, including another concertgoer, who commented: "Wouldn't miss it for the world!! Never do ! You were amazing I [love] you!!"
A third added: "You were absolutely phenomenal last night in concert! Thank you!"
"Rod, what a great show last night! You are still amazing," said one fan, as another echoed: "I was there, and it was fabulous! Yes! You are definitely sexy!!"
A sixth shared their own experience and praised: "I danced the night away. Bravo Sir Hot Rod."
The fresh show came after Billy Joel announced that he would be cancelling all scheduled concerts, including the joint concert at Yankee Stadium, after he was diagnosed with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH).

Concert performances exacerbated his condition, leading the rock and roll hall of fame star to have problems with his hearing, vision, and balance.
According to the NHS, the illness can be fatal if left untreated and can occur when spinal fluid builds up and applies pressure to the brain.
Under his doctor's instructions, Billy underwent specific physical therapy and was advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period.
At the time, the 76-year-old said he was thankful for the excellent care he is receiving and was fully committed to prioritising his health.
According to his website: "He is grateful for the support from fans during this time and looks forward to the day when he can once again take the stage." As the icon added: "I'm sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding."
