Race Across the World's Sioned and Fin share relationship update months after show

Race Across the World stars Sioned Cray and Fin Gough have shared a relationship update months after the show.

The young couple from Wales took part in the fifth series of the hit BBC programme earlier this year, which saw five pairs attempting to reach the southernmost point of India after starting at the Great Wall of China.

The participants, devoid of smartphones and bank cards, relied solely on the small budget provided in order to win an impressive £20,000 prize pot.

After a thrilling season, mother and son duo, Caroline and Tom, won the jackpot after becoming the first pair to reach the final checkpoint in Kanniyakumari.

Sisters Elizabeth and Letitia were just 19 minutes behind the winners, followed by Fin and Sioned and brothers Brian and Melvyn, reports Plymouth Live.

Speaking on the red carpet at the National Television Awards last week (September 10), Sioned spoke candidly about how the show brought her and Fin closer together.

"We're definitely closer after it," she affirmed, while Fin elaborated: "You don't have a phone, you're with each other 24/7. There's no break. If you're on a bus, you're side by side for 12/13 hours, so you kind of grow closer together."

Sioned also mentioned: "We've not really been apart a lot since."

The star then reflected on her hardest moment from the series, which occurred as the couple entered India for the first time.

Sioned notably became emotional on the show as she saw young children living in poverty on the streets of Varanasi.

"I think it was very evident on camera that [my hardest moment] was entering India. It was really tough for me, just mad on the senses. But Fin helped me through that," the star recounted.

Despite the hurdles they faced, the couple disclosed their eagerness to return to the show, saying they "would love" to participate again if given the chance.

Sioned added: "At the time, if you had asked me that, I would have said no but now that I've been back and settled down, I'd love to go on again."

Months on from the show's end and the stars still make an effort to see each other regularly throughout the year, with Fin concluding: "We're one big family."
