Locals in a popular UK city were left stunned after discovering Christmas lights on one of its landmark buildings well before the festive season. The Dome, a famous bar and restaurant on George Street, in Edinburgh is known for having elaborate Christmas decorations every year.
The iconic building has set up its outdoor displays for Christmas on October 13, even much before Halloween, with some calling it a "madness". Staff decorated the building with festive flair, placing glittering wreaths above its doors and windows. Bright white lights were carefully wrapped around the tall, impressive columns, creating a striking and cheerful display that lit up the entire facade.
Originally built as a bank in 1840, the structure has been beautifully preserved and repurposed, now serving as a stylish restaurant and bar. Its elegant architecture and central location make it a standout destination for both locals and visitors.
The iconic building is known for putting up its Christmas decorations well ahead of the festive season, creating a buzz each year.
However, this time around, many locals feel the decorations have appeared even earlier than usual, sparking surprise and conversation about the unusually early start to the holiday spirit.
A local who shared a photo of the display on X, called the timings as "madness", however, several others felt that it wasn't "too early".
Several comments described the timing as "very early," while others agreed, adding "Yes. However, bonny aren't they?""The Dome makes such a huge effort that it does take them a while to put up all the decorations. Well done, I cannot wait to see the tree," replied one comment.
Another reply read, "Love it! Never too early," while another described the display as "always a welcome sight."
Even last year, the staff had wrapped the building with the Christmas lights in the last week of October.
