Fox News 'flips the script' but fails miserably in huge blow to Donald Trump

Fox News has tried to "flip the script" - but has failed miserably in another blow to US President Donald Trump. It comes after California Governor Gavin Newsom's press office began mocking Trump's Truth Social posts on X earlier this month. The posts are often written in capitals and end with the governor's initials "GCN" in a reference to the world leader adding "DJT" to his Truth Social posts.

Fox News stars are also being mimicked by Newsom, such as Dana Perino, branded Dana 'Ding Dong' Perino on the platform, who urged the governor to stop if he wanted to be taken seriously. "You have to stop it with the Twitter thing," she said on The Five. "I don't know where his wife is?If I were his wife, I would say, 'You are making a fool of yourself, stop it!'"

She added: "Do not let your staff tweet-and if you are doing it yourself, put the phone away and start over. He's got a big job as governor of California, but if he wants an even bigger job, he has to be a little more serious."

Perino also addressed the issue on Fox News today - telling viewers: "And that was my point, is that if you are doing this and it's not authentic and you're trying to do somebody else - and you think we don't get the joke? We get the joke. It's just not funny."

However, one person shared the clip on X and noted how the governor is "flipping the MAGA script back on itself".

He penned: "Gavin Newsom isn't just firing off random tweets - he's flipping the MAGA script back on itself to show how ridiculous it really is. Fox News telling him to "act serious?" This is the same network that treated Trump's ALL CAPS meltdowns like breaking news..."

"What bothers them is that Newsom is serving up their own medicine-and it's landing," he added. "Fox News calling for "seriousness" after years of Trump's Twitter tantrums is like a pyromaniac scolding the smoke alarm. The alarm isn't the problem-the fire is."
