The Witcher season 4 is arriving on Netflix in less than a week following an action-packed season 3.
The eagerly awaited series will feature Liam Hemsworth (recognised for his performance in The Hunger Games) stepping into the role of Geralt of Rivia following Henry Cavill's surprise departure from the programme.
It was previously confirmed that The Witcher season 4 and five (the concluding series) were being filmed simultaneously, which will bring the adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski's novels to completion.
Netflix reveals: "After the Continent-altering events of Season Three, Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri find themselves separated by a raging war and countless enemies. As their paths diverge, and their goals sharpen, they stumble on unexpected allies eager to join their journeys. And if they can accept these found families, they just might have a chance at reuniting for good.", reports the Mirror.
Here's everything you need to know about The Witcher season 4.
The Witcher season 4 will premiere on Netflix on October 30. According to reports, the programme will comprise eight episodes.
The official trailer opens with a dramatic voiceover that declares: "Geralt, you've spent a lifetime battling monsters and men....
"Your entire being is dedicated to finding someone who you fear you've failed.... Your Ciri."
The thrilling trailer sets the stage as the characters find themselves divided by a fierce war and numerous foes. According to Netflix's Tudum, Geralt will not be alone in his mission, marking the start of what fans recognise as the Hanza.
Creator Lauren Schmidt Hissrich revealed to Tudum: "That's still a struggle for Geralt. This is a man who has always claimed he doesn't have emotions because he can't. And we clearly know that is not true. We'll start to see those boundaries tested again in Season 4."
Liam Hemsworth is set to portray Geralt as he embarks on a quest to find his 'daughter' Princess Cirilla (Freya Allen). Season 4 will also introduce some notable new faces including Laurence Fishburne as Regis, who is predicted to become a fan favourite.
