A chilling Netflix series featuring a star from Celebrity Traitors has been hailed as a "must-watch" by viewers.
The Fall of The House of Usher, inspired by Edgar Allen Poe's 1839 short story, first graced our screens in October 2023.
The show, masterminded by Mike Flanagan, boasts a stellar cast including Mark Hamill, Henry Thomas, Crystal Balint, Rahul Kohli, Kate Siegel and Ruth Codd, who is currently competing on the inaugural UK series of Celebrity Traitors.
The plot centres around the family of Roderick Usher, the CEO of a corrupt pharmaceutical company, who is forced to face his past misdeeds when they come back to haunt him, leading to each of his children meeting a mysterious and gruesome end.
This dark comedy cleverly weaves several of Poe's tales and characters into one gripping drama, with each episode shedding light on one of Usher's six children and their hidden secrets, reports the Mirror.
Flickering between two timelines, one following Usher's rise to power and another revealing the deaths of his children decades later, viewers discover how Roderick and his sister Madeline Usher tempted fate at a bar on New Year 's Eve in 1979, taking a choice from mysterious being Verna (Carla Gugino) and sealing their bloodline's destiny.
The Fall of the House of Usher scored rave reviews from fans, earning a 91% Rotten Tomatoes score.
One fan wrote: "Beautifully executed, acted and perfect cinematography. Tip of the hat to Poe and delivered epically. Highly recommend."
Another said: "I loved this. Definitely a must watch. It has such great cinematography. I liked the way in which the story of what happened was told, the flashbacks and everything being told by one person."
Someone else praised: "So unique and binge worthy," while one branded it "utter perfection".
"This was on the edge of your seat good," another said, as one wrote: "This is in my top 10 favorite series of all time. Exceptionally well written and superb acting. Mike Flanagan is to film what Stephen King is to the page."

"Incredible from start to finish. Engaging, thrilling and well structured. One of the best shows I've watched all year. Would definitely recommend!" another viewer reviewed.
Ruth, who made her acting debut in another of Mike Flanagan's Netflix horror series, The Midnight Club, previously spoke about her rise to fame.
"It's just a privilege to be able to go to work every day and do something that brings me so much joy. I don't know if it's the universe or if there was a meaning to it, but acting found its way to me," she told Teen Vogue in 2023.
"I love being on set. I love getting up at four in the morning for an early call time. I love night shoots."
