Manchester United have been the bane of Newcastle United's attacking transfer plans this summer, already denying Eddie Howe two of his top targets. Bryan Mbeumo was one of them, opting for an Old Trafford switch despite interest from the Magpies, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
United have finally struck an agreement with Brentford for the 25-year-old, paying a guaranteed £65million fee in four instalments with a further £6m in add-ons. And as he closes in on his dream move, the Red Devils look set to directly cost Newcastle for a third time by potentially taking Yoane Wissa off the market.
According to BBC Sport, Brentford have no intention to lose Wissa as well as Mbeumo this summer, given the dynamic duo's importance to the club.
Nottingham Forest and Spurs join Newcastle in the hunt for the 28-year-old, who scored 19 Premier League goals last season.
Even if Brentford are convinced to cash in on the DR Congo international, who turns 29 in September, Mbeumo's exit could drive his asking price up.
The report adds that Brentford have valued Wissa at more than £40m amid the rife Premier League interest.

While Mbeumo's United switch makes a potential deal more difficult for Newcastle, Wissa could play his part to offer the Tyneside club optimism.
It's claimed that he has shrugged off Brentford's efforts to tie him down to a new contract, with his current deal expiring next summer.
Wissa is said to have privately made it clear that he has no intention to hold talks over an extension in west London and wishes to explore a new challenge elsewhere.
Newcastle, Forest and Spurs can all offer European football next season, and agreeing personal terms would not be expected to be an issue.

Keith Andrews already faces a daunting task to replace Thomas Frank in his first season as a professional football manager.
Mbeumo is primed to follow goalkeeper Mark Flekken and captain Christian Norgaard out the exit door this summer.
Wissa also finding an escape route would increase the pressure on Brentford to strengthen Andrews' ranks to avoid a drop-off this term.
The Bees are interested in Ipswich Town winger Omari Hutchinson to replace Mbeumo. They would require a second attacking signing if Wissa also makes way.
