BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty had a rather blunt reaction to her co-star's return.

The long-running morning show returned to screens on Saturday (October 18) for another instalment. Naga and Charlie Stayt were back at the helm, to discuss some of the biggest stories hitting the headlines.

However, things took an awkward turn when the pair checked in on Saturday Kitchen host Matt Tebbutt to see what he had coming up on his show.

Matt was absent from the programme last week and was replaced by The One Show host and Welsh presenter Alex Jones.

Back in his seat on Saturday though, Matt told Naga and Charlie: "Hi! I'm back!" Naga said: "Welcome back," as Matt replied: "Thanks, it's good to be back. How are you guys did you miss me?"

Naga then issued a stern three-word response and quipped: "Alex was great!" causing Matt to laugh as he agreed: "Wasn't she! Couldn't agree more, what a refreshing change she was."

Matt proceeded to disclose what's featured on Saturday Kitchen including chefs Adejoké Bakare and Theo Randall and celebrity guest Chris McCausland.

Every Saturday Kitchen episode features a public figure such as a celebrity, broadcaster, author or sportsperson as a main guest.

Throughout the programme, dishes are prepared live by a handful of featured chefs. Each show also incorporates archived footage from other culinary or food-themed programmes.

It comes after the news that Matt will be joining the judging panel for the upcoming series of MasterChef: The Professionals, alongside Marcus Wareing and Monica Galetti. The trio will also welcome a host of thrilling guest judges during the initial stages of the competition.

Talking about his new judging gig, Matt previously said: "It's an absolute honour to be working alongside these two titans of the food world.

"Their knowledge and uncompromising attitude is now the stuff of legend and I look forward to them taking me under their wing and seeing the chefs get off to a flying start in the competition!"

BBC Breakfast airs everyday from 6am on BBC One.
