Praising INS Vikrant, PM Modi said that the mere name of this aircraft carrier is enough to give Pakistan sleepless nights.
INS Vikrant, which will be inducted into the Navy in 2022, places India among the elite group of countries capable of designing and building its own aircraft carriers. It is built by Cochin Shipyard Limited, reflecting India's growing naval and industrial power. INS Vikrant is named after its former name. Vikrant played a key role in the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War, which led to Bangladesh's independence. The name 'Vikrant' means courageous or victorious.
