3000 runs against India
Joe Root made two big records in his innings of 99 runs on the first day of the match. As soon as he took the 45th run during his innings, he completed 3000 Test runs against India. Root is the first batsman in the world to score 3000 Test runs against India. Root completed his fifty after a while. This is Root's 67th fifty. He has now played an innings of 50 or more 103 times in Test cricket. Root has now come at par with Ricky Ponting and Jacques Kallis in terms of playing innings of 50 runs or more. Now, only Sachin Tendulkar (119) is ahead of him.
