Formula 1 driver Yuki Tsunoda recently shared a funny story which involved F1: The Movie star Brad Pitt. While leaving a hotel in New York City, Tsunoda ran into Pitt but later admitted that he didn’t recognise Pitt at first and thought he was just another fan trying to meet the drivers.
"When I was exiting the hotel, someone said, 'Yuki, Yuki,' from behind. Yeah, I thought he was a random fan. And when I looked behind, it was Brad Pitt. And yeah, he just came to me and said 'hi'. So he's a really fun guy. Very nice guy," said Tsunoda.

The movie, which features real F1 action and includes several actual drivers, was being filmed during real Grand Prix weekends. So, Tsunoda and other drivers had the chance to appear in scenes, interact with actors, and get a taste of Hollywood.

Hollywood actor Brad Pitt had a fun moment on the red carpet at the premiere of his new Formula 1 movie when F1 star George Russell walked in during his interview. The event took place in New York right after the Canadian Grand Prix weekend, which was won by George Russell.
As Pitt was talking to Sky Sports, he suddenly saw Russell, smiled, and said, "Hold on. What a weekend, dude. What a great race, so fun to watch." Pitt was clearly excited and added, "Can you believe they even let us in (to F1)? It’s insane!"

The film, titled F1: The Movie, stars Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a retired driver who returns to help a new racing team. Damson Idris plays the young driver he mentors. The movie also stars Javier Bardem and was made with help from F1 champion Lewis Hamilton, who made sure everything looked real.
Scenes were filmed during real F1 races, including at Silverstone and Abu Dhabi. Pitt and Idris even drove actual race cars prepared by Mercedes. The film is set to release worldwide on June 25, 2025, and in North America on June 27, 2025. Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick) and with music by Hans Zimmer, the movie aims to be both exciting and true to the sport.
