Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Secretary Anurag Jain got angry with the bankers at a meeting with the members of the State-Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) on Thursday for 19,196 pending cases under PM Swanidhi Yojna.

Jain told a top official of the bank, who also attended the meeting, to issue show-cause notices to the managers of the banks concerned. Jain told them to work out all the long-pending cases within 15 days.

Although the PM’s Swanidhi Yojna has been closed since December 31 last year, the pending cases have not been worked out. This is the reason that the beneficiaries are not getting subsidies under the scheme. But Jain said such cases should be immediately solved.

At an SLBC meeting on April 17 this year, the banks were told to disburse payment to the sanctioned cases within a month. But only 1,683 cases have been disposed of since April, and 19,196 cases are yet to be disposed of for payment.

The issues like business, credit plans, and updating of the branches of new banks in the financial year 2024-25 figured in the meeting.

Besides Prime Minister’ Suraksha Yojna, the Jeevan Jyoti insurance scheme, Jan Dhan scheme, Atal Pension Yojna, National Rural Livelihood Mission, and PM's Vishwakarma scheme also came up for discussion in the meeting.
