Take a deep breath and calm yourself - Whenever you feel stressed, first take a few deep breaths. Breathe in and out slowly. This simple method calms your nervous system and relaxes the mind. Deep breathing for a few minutes normalizes the heartbeat and keeps the mind cool.

Take a walk or do light exercise - Physical activity is very helpful in reducing mental stress. If you want, take a short walk near the house or do yoga or light stretching for 10-15 minutes. This releases a hormone called endorphin in the body, which makes you feel good and improves your mood.

Take a break from mobile and screen - Often we start scrolling social media during stress, but it can increase the stress instead of reducing it. It would be better to stay away from mobile, laptop, or TV for some time and keep yourself in a calm environment.

Get your sleep right - Inadequate sleep can be the biggest cause of stress. Try to get a good sleep of 7-8 hours every night. Getting enough sleep reduces the stress level of the body, and the next day, one feels refreshed.

Do what you like - Do something of your choice during stress, like reading a book, listening to music, painting, or gardening. This diverts your attention from negative thinking and relaxes the mind.

Talk to someone close - Whenever you feel stressed, share your heart with a trusted friend or family member. Talking makes the heart lighter, and sometimes a solution is also found. Do not try to bear everything alone.

Manage time properly - Often, workload and lack of time cause stress. Make a to-do list and prioritize the most important tasks. Don't do everything at once; do it gradually. This will reduce stress, and you will also be more productive.

Adopt meditation and mindfulness - Meditation means concentrating, and mindfulness means being in the present. Both of these are very effective in reducing stress. Meditate with your eyes closed for 5-10 minutes a day and just focus on your breathing. Gradually the mind will start to calm down and the stress will go away.
