Marco Rubio unveils aid, terrorist designations to back Ecuador crime fight

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Thursday announced nearly $20 million in security assistance to Ecuador and the terrorist designations of two gangs to help the country tackle soaring crime.

Vowing more efforts by President Donald Trump against the " vicious animals" in criminal groups, Rubio told a news conference: "This administration is confronting it like it's never been confronted before."
