Siwan (Bihar) [India], November 3 (ANI): With just days remaining for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor on Monday asserted that the BJP will not return to power in the state.
During the election campaign in Siwan, Jan Suraaj's founder said, "BJP government is going to go".
He also slammed RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, saying that it is the people of Bihar who will decide the next chief minister.
"The BJP government is going to go, but whether Lalu Yadav's son will become the CM will be decided by the people of Bihar. Lalu Yadav is not the king here who will make a decision, and that will only happen," he said.
Criticising both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Kishor said that national leaders visit Bihar only to attack each other, but rarely address key issues of the state, such as unemployment.
He said, "PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi have their own ways; these people come but never talk about Bihar. They will abuse each other in Bihar whenever they come here. Neither PM Modi nor Rahul Gandhi is talking about employment in Bihar."
While talking to the media, Prashant Kishore urged the voters to reject corrupt candidates, adding that electing honest representatives strengthens the morale of good leaders, while choosing the wrong ones emboldens corruption across the state.
He said, "I will only say one thing to the voters of Siwan: this is not a fight against any individual. But when you elect a corrupt person, the morale of such corrupt leaders increases throughout the state... I always say that if you defeat a good person, it breaks the morale of hundreds of good people, and if you elect a wrong person, it boosts the morale of hundreds of corrupt people; they will not be afraid to commit corruption."
The first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections is scheduled to happen on November 6. The second phase of voting will take place on November 11, and the results of the election will be announced on November 14. (ANI)
