Comedian Zakir Khan is currently touring with his stand-up show ‘Papa Yaar’ across the globe and is promoting it on social media with full throttle.
Zakir Khan’s ‘Fake’ AccentComedian Max Amini recently published a podcast with Zakir on his YouTube channel, where they talked about their personal and professional journeys.

During the podcast, Zakir was talking in an exaggerated accent, which was spotted by social media users and they started trolling him.
But some of them also defended him and said that it is okay if he speaks in an accent because he doesn’t want to create confusion.

One user commented, “English is meant to be spoken in an english way.. one should be ashamed of speaking in a banglorean or any other way for that matter.”

Another user commented, “Max Amini knows indian accent very well, he mocks it in his shows, there is no point in changing accent in front of such an artist who doesn't spare anyone in his jokes.”

One user reacted, “Should we mock a fellow Indian who probably didn’t have a fancy, English-based education and went on to become disproportionately successful anyways? Insecurity/ jealousy often comes dressed up as mockery.”

Another user reacted, “I like him too much to troll him for that ‘Oh my God…..’ and btw smtimes when you’re too deep in emotions u unconsciously slip into the other person’s accent that’s not mimicry or copying ….it’s just connection taking over …”

One user said, “Zakir Khan no hate bro but the way you held conversation with a news anchor previously, it was a delight to hear you speak fluently with a proper accent but here it just sounds wrong. Many people pointing out here in the comments should make it obvious and for you to reconsider.”

In a recent video, Zakir Khan justified his accent and said that sometimes you have to do it to make other people comfortable in their countries.
“It is not about being embarrassed about your accent, but it is about making others understand your point of view and a clear flow of communication.”

Ironically, Zakir Khan has always roasted the people who fake their accent, especially the girls from ‘South Delhi.’
Zakir Khan’s first viral video was actually about a South Delhi girl who friend-zoned him.
