From Now You See Me 3 to Ocean’s Fourteen, there are some very iconic heist films that are releasing soon. Side by side, France’s legendary art museum, The Louvre, got robbed in broad daylight, that too in only seven minutes. Although the situation in itself is troublesome, it feels like it is right out of a movie.
Luckily, we’re not the only ones who think like it. George Clooney also spoke up about how the Louvre heist seemed bizarre and something that could be written fictionally. It is, however, ironic that all of this happened in real life.

While talking with Variety, George Clooney took a moment to talk about the Louvre heist. While the entire world gapes at just how impossible a task it was to pull off, he isn’t one to admit it either. Memes are being made on it left and right, calling it a PR stunt for the promotion of Now You See Me: Now You Don’t.
“I think we should, we should rob the Louvre. But somebody’s already done it man, I don’t know. You know what we’re gonna do? We’re gonna rob Adam Sandler,” he said.
Clooney talked about how, although Ocean’s Fourteen’s script is already completed, it would be impossible to live up to the same kind of hype that the heist set. As much as he would want his crew to do the same, it has already been done and in a much cooler way. So, he just ended up jokingly saying that he would rob Adam Sandler as a second option.

Before the Louvre heist, thinking of such large-scale robberies in daytime would only be considered fictional. Dhoom, the Ocean’s franchise, and Now You See Me all have thrived on the idea of doing the impossible. Now it isn’t just fictional anymore. While George Clooney cannot incorporate that in the script, he knows things just got more difficult.
“I wonder if they’re going to get these guys. I mean, they seemed to have done a pretty good job at getting away with it.” He continued, “If you’re a professional thief like I am, I was very proud of those guys... In the middle of broad daylight, it’s crazy.”
When reality is already so interesting for once, what can fiction offer that won’t bore audiences? Ocean’s Fourteen would have to pull off an extraordinary robbery that is like nothing fans have ever seen.
