SSC PwBD Rule 2025: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has implemented a new rule. Now, if PwBD / PWD candidates want to avail scribe service or extra (compensatory) time in the examination, then it will be mandatory for them to bring their original disability certificate to the examination center.

This rule will be applicable from Selection Post Phase XIII and the upcoming CHSL 2025 exam. This decision has been taken because many times, candidates without valid documents have tried to take advantage of the facilities.

Conditions to upload documents at the time of application

Now, a new rule has come into force from Selection Post Examination Phase XIII, 2025, under which if a candidate claims disability, then they must upload the relevant certificate or document online at the time of submitting the application form. But many candidates did not upload the documents, due to which the Commission has decided that such candidates will not be given compensatory time or scribe facility unless they submit valid documents at the examination center.

It is mandatory to bring the original certificate to the examination center.
All those disabled candidates who have asked for extra time or a scribe during online application and have also uploaded the documents, will now be required to bring their original certificate on the day of the examination. If a candidate does not bring the original certificate, he will neither get extra time nor the facility of a scribe. This decision of the Commission has been taken to bring transparency and fairness to the examination system.

Was there no strictness in the examinations earlier?

In the examinations conducted earlier by SSC, if a candidate was visually impaired (VH), weak in both hands (BA), or suffering from cerebral palsy (CP), then they used to get the facility of extra time and a scribe. For this, it was not necessary to show any documents at the examination center. But the candidates who just said that they are unable to write had to bring supporting documents like Annexure-I or Annexure-IA to the examination to prove their point.
